A very easy read. Both entertaining and informative giving reader a grassroot perspective pre and post-Apartheid South African society. The author mostly keeps the overall tone light-hearted though. It ranges from birth to his early career but mentions pretty much nothing of the latter concentrating mostly to family, friends and minor mischiefs. Would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about the author or South Africa.
What a life he has lived, So far! He and his mother are strong determined people. I also enjoyed glimpsing at life in South Africa. A great read. Je recommande ce livre! Boy, Trevor Noah has had some life. And he has a wonderful ability to tell stories. So happy to have read it.
Great reading that I recommand. Every chapter brings a different story with strong meaning behing. It's amazing to see how life can bring both tough very tough situations and also success and happiness. Respect Noah and Big respect for your Mother! As American kids in the 70s we'd learned about apartheid. We cheered when Nelson Mandela was released from prison and went on to lead. But South Africa was too far away to be real. Trevor Noah uses humor to tell the story of a country emerging from the legacy of its past alongside his personal story of personal identity and racial tensions, faith and religion, domestic violence and the human spirit.
